Principal's Message

As we embark on a new academic year at St. Lawrence's Convent Girls' School, I am thrilled to welcome our students back to a journey filled with growth, discovery, and purpose. This year brings exciting advancements, including the introduction of the Cambridge System with a new section to offer globally recognized education, and the digitization of our teaching methods to enrich learning experiences. Our Go Green initiative, launched in 2019 with the creation of our Peace Garden, continues to thrive as we encourage environmental stewardship among our students.

Our dedicated faculty has crafted dynamic curricula that inspire curiosity and foster academic excellence, while personalized support ensures every student reaches her potential. We will also expand our community service projects and extracurricular activities, nurturing compassion, leadership, and social responsibility. Recognizing the importance of mental health, we are committed to promoting emotional well-being through specialized programs, creating a supportive and empowering environment for all. Together, we look forward to a remarkable year of learning, growth, and meaningful service.

Fostering High Standards in Education

St. Lawrence's Convent Girls' School is a highly respected institution for female education located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Established in 1936 by the Sisters of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), this notable private Catholic school has thrived under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Karachi. Originally catering to 115 students under the leadership of Mother Mary Britwald, the school has seen substantial growth over the years. It is conveniently situated at the historic crossroads of Britto and D'Souza Roads, in the area once known as Cincinnatus Town, now recognized as Garden East.

Despite encountering challenges such as nationalization in 1972 and subsequent denationalization in 1990, the institution has consistently maintained its dedication to academic excellence. As of 2011, the school served approximately 1,100 students and proudly celebrated a legacy of over 130,000 alumni by 2024. In 2011, the school commemorated its 75th anniversary with a significant platinum jubilee, which included a Mass at St. Lawrence's Church attended by Archbishop Evarist Pinto and other esteemed guests, underscoring the lasting impact and tradition of this respected institution. As we approach the end of 2024, the school currently boasts an enrollment of 2,000 students, spanning from pre-nursery to matriculation.
